Why Green lense?

so this is the blog where you can enjoy topics such as goth-related issues, all forms of arts - also books and movies, and on top of all random crossing thoughts --but those are always the best aren't they? :)

so why Green lense?

I wanted to point out that all topics in this blog are seen from a rather "weird" perspective.. and maybe not something you hear or read often.. it's seen from a different point of view.. a green point of view.. from a green lense!

enjoy my blog :)

Painting of the week #3

This time I'm giving you a painting that i drew myself! it was a gift for my free-diver brother who simply adores the sea...  although i was younger (and not so great in painting) when i did this specific painting, but the idea of it doesn't need much effect to beautify, it's simplicity and how basic it is, makes it cartoon-ish-ly  cute :) no?

Here's my attempt in a close up on Goldie

Creative recycling ideas!! ;)

Be Artistic in treating earth right! :)

Symphony X

Symphony X is my ultimate favorite band that ever existed, and well i always used to be asked "better than dream theater??" YEPP wayyy better than dream!! It's a progressive metal band, and it's formed of 5 band members.. Russel as vocal, Michael Romeo on guitar (awesome guitarist), Michael P. on keyboard, Michael L. on bass, and Jason on drums (amazing-ass drummer!! kills me -- his beats are very hard to play -.-)

The most amazing thing about Symphony X's music is that

Painting of the week #2 (4/10/12) "Starry night" by Vincent Van Gogh

One pretty illustration of the night sky full of stars, made by Vincent Van Gogh.. one of his most famous paintings of all times!
What i personally love most about this painting, is Gogh's try to form the realistic illustration of what we know stars are, and what we see stars are -- what we see is crosses and lines extensions of lights -- what he changed,
he made them round and real rather than just a light, the way we see them in the dark sky!

So Gogh went and drew stars, all shiny and lighting up (the way we see it), but artistically twisted it into round shaped actual stars, the way they are supposed to be ;) *creative Mr. Vincent!!*

The colors of this painting are very relaxing to the eyes, not funky and annoying.. he used different shades of blue and a little bit of other colors but very dim, and not directly in the center of the painting!! I would personally buy this painting and hang it somewhere in my house.. as much as i adore Salvador Dali's work, but i would only look at it for a while --  not a keeper like this!

what do y'all think of this?? share!

The persuit of happyness

First, i did not miss-spell happiness by adding a 'y' instead of 'i'.. it's really how the movie is named! why? you'll have to watch it to know why ;)
Starring Will Smith and his son (yes actual son) in this unmissable Social Drama movie about life, poverty and ethics! It's a personal favorite, and #1 movie in the crying zone! :P yea.. it was specifically the first movie ever that was strong and meaningful enough that made me weep my eyes off!-- MUST watch!

The story speaks of a man,

Lilac hair! Hot!

So i was skimming articles about hair colours.. And i thought this is cool! It's not too funky, it's not white, yet it's not blonde! It beats red..too much people have red hair already.. But this..It's pretty! It's Lilac!

It's a nice hair color, when the hair is long enough and preferably straight..like it is in the picture! It gives a mysterious, classy yet Gothic look! The best part, is that it's perfect for young adult ladies,

*thoughts* on reading books

One of the best moments of the reading experience, in my opinion, is the actual 'grip' of a book, the width of it, it's papers.. it's special.. it's way to bond with my books and shows intimacy in our relationship! .. Unlike the experience of e-books and i-books, where it just doesn't suffice! I can't enjoy the experience with a virtual book in a screen..it doesn't feel like a book! it doesn't feel real!
Best reading time is always at night before we sleep - especially if

Tracy Chapman's amazing voice

Folk lovers, Blues lovers...If you haven't heard songs for Tracy yet, WHAT are you waiting for??
she's talented and amazing, and she has the most catchy-yet meaningful songs ever :) oh and plus 4 time Grammy award winner!!

She has performed with : BB king - Pavarotti - Eric Clapton <3 - Bob Marley! and many many others..

My personal favorite songs:
*Heaven's here on earth
 *Cold feet
*Across the lines
*Why
*Amazingly meaningful lyrics*

~Baby can i hold you
~Amazingly romantic song~

Caramel (by Nadine Labaki)

Not one of the listed Favs, but a sneak peak at some Lebanese Film work! :)
For those who have not much knowledge on Lebanese culture, and yet interested.. Take a look!!

READ HERE -- for info about this movie :)

What's Aikido?

It's one of the many types of  Japanese martial-arts! it was originally founded my Morihei Ueshiba! (also referred to as O'sensei!
Aikido is often translated as "the Way of unifying with life energy! or as "the Way of harmonious spirit." (exact Japanese translation) - Ueshiba's goal was to create an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury, and yet still have the ability to completely crush every bones the attacker has *giggle* :)

Painting of the week #1 (27 sept 2012)

"The temptations of St. Anthony" (by Salvador Dali)
This extraordinary masterpiece of art, is, as the title shows, a representation of the temptations of St. Anthony.. in a way it's a religion based piece..
The way i view it, it means heaven, and the everlasting attempts to reach it! A white horse is the leader of this march, and he's followed by elephants, surreal ones.. the fact that all the animals are on the same level with the clouds, means they reach high! most probably are reaching for immortality and peace in heaven..

Salvador Dali

Dali is Spanish! a painter!! and a CRAZY man! yes you read correctly.. he's very very crazy! and i love it :)
Ever looked at Leonardo Da-vinci's paintings and thought Wow, but if only he adds a little imagination to them.. And then looked at Picasso's paintings and thought Wow, but if only he adds a little reality to them? you have?? - Well i have too!.. I found Dali :) he has a little bit of both in his work!

As Dali once said, that he draws his paintings out of his dreams..
Dreams are often mixed up and messy! his dreams are

Two *Amazing* musicians!!

Drummer Steve Smith! and Bassist Victor Wooten!--two most amazing musicians of alltimes..
They are both Jazz artists.. and they both make wonders (especially when playing together)
Steve is an American drummer, rated among the top 25 drummers of All times!! he has the beat running in his blood cells, and he simply knows how to "groove" :)

DUMA KEY! my favourite book

I have read this book near 4 years ago.. since then i have read it twice!
For all art lovers, and especially drawing/painting lovers.. this is a must read book :) -- It's an extremely motivational book, values life and living! It's about a a man who loses half of his body functions in an accident, and his whole life flips around, moves to an island "DUMA KEY" to start a new life, where he picks up on drawing, and finds magic in his drawings.. and the rest is for you to find out ;)

a little quote from the book -- "How to Draw a Picture

First things first! what's a Goth??

What it's Not, is a bunch of satanist life haters who wear black and paint black stuff all over their face and nails.. and it's definitely Not people who want to die and suicide and listen to death metal... those are all stereotypes and that's not what goth is.. and not what I am...

What is Goth?

This is probably the hardest question any goth could try and answer, one may as well ask 'what is society?' as it has so many facets it defies any definitive explanation.
Goth in its simplest form, is a subculture.
